Tuesday Tidbit - Quality

Tidbit:  Conrad Grebel makes better quality furniture. For example, we use a thicker drawer bottom in all of our bedroom furniture. While the rest of the furniture world typically uses 1/8” or 1/4" thick drawer bottoms, we use a 3/8” thickness. This thickness combined with inlayed wood keeps the drawer bottoms from bowing over time. In addition, our drawer boxes are fully cut so that the bottom panels slide into the frame making our drawers much stronger.  Like a jigsaw puzzle, connecting the joinery creates long term strength & durability.

Just for Laughs:  All generalizations are false, including this one. – Mark Twain

Fun Amish Fact:  Within the Amish & Mennonite community the “green movement” has been a part of our lifestyle for centuries. For example, sawdust that is collected from our woodshops will often be used for horse bedding in the barn. Scrap wood will often be used to other furniture parts or will be kept for the winter to heat the woodshop. The word “waste” is not often heard on an Amish or Mennonite farm.
