Tuesday Tidbit - Options

Tidbit:  Conrad Grebel has options. Many of our tabletops come with 13/16” thickness or 1” depending on the model. In some cases we use up to 1.38” thick lumber, like our Winchester table. With solid wood, thicker tabletops do not mean better tabletops. The reason we use different thicknesses is because of design appeal. Some tables appeal more to the eye with thicker tops while others appeal more with thinner. Of course, we can make any of our tables with any of those three thicknesses by request. This variance separates Conrad Grebel from the rest of the furniture manufacturers who typically offer only one thickness.

Bay Harbour – 13/16” thickness

Wethersfield – 1” thickness

Winchester – 1.38” thickness

Fun Amish Fact:  School has started up again here in northern Indiana. Where did the summer go? Amish children enjoy this time of year when the weather is warm because it’s fun to walk or ride their bike to school. Some Amish children do attend our regular public schools though…most riding the school bus to and from school. My three children attend with many Amish children in the Middlebury Schools. Each Amish congregation has their own rules on public school vs. Amish school. Either way, the Amish will attend school only through the 8th grade.
