Tuesday Tidbit - Design

Tidbit:  Conrad Grebel is about design. One of the compliments we appreciate most is that when people see our furniture they often will say, “your furniture doesn’t look Amish!”  It’s music to our ears when we hear that because it means we’re doing what we set out to do. Our goal is to stand out among the crowded field of Amish manufacturers and be our own company and brand.  We’ve worked hard to design original pieces that cater to a broader, more sophisticated audience. While there are so many Amish manufacturers in the marketplace anymore, most designs are modifications of something that already exists…or even direct copies at an uncertain quality level. Conrad Grebel continues to strive to be in front of the crowded field for those who appreciate and look for original designs at a quality standard that is unsurpassed.

Just for Laughs:  “Love is like a booger. You keep picking at it until you get it, then wonder what to do with it.” – Anonymous

Fun Amish Fact:  I’m often asked where the largest concentration of Amish are. Holmes County, Ohio has the largest population, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania has the second largest, and Lagrange County, Indiana has the third largest. While the Amish are represented in communities in about half of the states these three communities have the largest concentration. When a new area is inhabited it’s common for several families to move together in order to start a new community. Price of farmland and work opportunity is the common reason for moving to a new area.
