Tuesday Tidbit from Conrad Grebel

Tidbit:  Conrad Grebel has a special working relationship with Greenhouse Fabrics.  While we offer a limited supply of fabrics via a swatch Greenhouse offers many more options!  The program is very simple:

1.      Go to www.greenhousefabrics.com

2.      Pick out the fabric you would like on your Conrad Grebel chairs

3.      Order the fabric with your Conrad Grebel chairs

a.      Does not require COM process – simply specify the Greenhouse style name and number, we’ll take care of the rest!

4.      Receive your chairs and enjoy them for generations!

5.      Contact us with any questions

Fun Amish Fact:  (Based upon political events of the last few years this fact comes to us today.  It is not meant to be politically charged.)  The Amish do not carry commercial health insurance, instead they gather money together within their church congregations when a member has a medical need.  As a self-sufficient group of people, the Amish rely on themselves and their community in times of need.  With the onset of the “Affordable Care Act” (Obamacare) it will be interesting to see what requirements are brought upon the Amish, if any.  To date I have not heard of the ACLU or any other organization taking up the cause of the Amish with the government.  On other occasions the government has been supportive of the Amish.  For example, the Amish typically don’t have to wear hard-hats on a construction job, preferring instead to wear their straw hats as a symbol of their heritage…in the 1950’s a judge asked to see an Amish man’s straw hat.  After inspecting it for a bit and tapping on the crown he said, “this’ll do just fine!”
