Tuesday Tidbit

Tidbit:  Conrad Grebel is about consistency.  Because we are a small network of Amish & Mennonite workshops (11 of them) we must be proactive regarding quality control.  Therefore, there are common traits with joinery, sanding and other expectations each shop understands and maintains.  After our furniture is made by hand it is then brought to one single finish shop where we stain our furniture and then finish it with our catalyzed varnish before inspection and packaging.  It’s a very unique business model that has maintained the character of handmade furniture without the assistance of a factory setting.

Fun Amish Fact:  Today we have folks coming into town to see how our company operates.  We will be taking buggy rides, visiting woodshops and eating lots of great food.  It’s a lot of fun for our Amish families to have folks visit their homes and woodshops.  They enjoy meeting the people who buy our furniture and market it to the public.  When much time is spent within a woodshop a break in the action is a nice respite.  Our families are as excited to meet our buyers as our buyers are to meet them.  It’ll be a great day!
