Blueberry Coffee Cake



3/4 c. sugar

1/4 c. shortening

1 egg

1/2 c. milk

1 3/4 c. flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1-2 c. blueberries, drained



1/2 c. sugar

1/3 c. flour

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 c. soft butter


Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9x9 pan. Mix sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in milk. Mix dry ingredients and stir in, adding slowly. Fold in blueberries. Spread batter into pan, it will be thick. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over cake. 


Make 25-35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.


Serve warm by itself or in a bowl with cream.
